QUR’AN AND VOCATIONAL TRAINING SCHOOL
INTRODUCTION

The acquisition of Islamic education need not to be emphasize as the pursuit for knowledge has been a universally accepted phenomenon in the globe as far back in the period of The Prophet Muhammad may the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him. The holy Qur’an has stress so much on the importance and blessing attached to the search for knowledge, both in this world and hereafter. It has been this singular desire for people to know God and to efficiently serve him that inspired me to come up with this idea of building an Islamic school. The above named school is situated in Lolo Bagudo Local Government Area of Kebbi State. It has five class rooms and a Mosque which has the capacity of containing 1000 people at a time. The school is opened to expansion any time as the concept is large. The concept is to build a 20 classrooms,library,an administrative office and 5 big halls as hostels,one as confrence room for both male and female student including those that opted for boarding school life. The Qur’an vocation training school was established since 2007 when the construction and other arrangement started. Glory be to God Almighty, the school kick started 1st June 2013 with a full compliment of an Islamic school. The whole Notion was to bring people closer to God Almighty, Knowing Him and worshiping Him, in addition to adding value in individual status in life,through it’s enterprenuership development concept.

It is a self effort project except that the doors are widely open to all well meaning Muslim around the Globe who share the believe of making positive impact on individual and the society. They can bring in their contribution and support in various ways that they deem fits, to mention just few e.g contribution can be in cash, building materials, furniture’s, books, vehicles other Library materials etc and no amount is small may Allah bless you as you thought and sought for it amen.

The need for Qur’an education has no limit in emphasis, as it is the only education that pronounces eternal bliss in the sight of Allah. After the 3 years Islamic educations for students, those who are physically fit will be sent for attachment in various skill acquision workshop and firms for a year or 2 as the case maybe. Thereafter by completion, loan will be provided for individual to foster acquired skills and give their service to the society. More or less the programme is an entrepreneurship development concept.

MISSION
To empower the less privileged member of the society provide support and Qur’an education to them for knowing God Almighty the more.

VISSION
To create a platform that will serves as a genuine foundation for Islamic education and value added activities that will enhance life.

BACK GROUND
The idea of establishing a Qur’an and vocation training school was dated back in the year 2007. After soughting for a land for residential, it was later extended to build an Islamic school which could catered for offering basic Qur’an knowledge and Training Entrepreneurship activities. The fast growing population in LOLO town must be quickly equipped with basic Islamic knowledge and skills so they can fit into the emergence civilization and fast development of the cities. The school therefore kicks started on 1st June 2013.

ACTIVITIES
After we successfully completed the building of a mosque which has the capacity of 250 people and five classes room with 2 administratives offices to cater for both the student and the teachers. We then bought all the learning materials such as furniture’s for the classes, white plastic boards with markers and other writing materials. All sort of books, files and most importantly the Qur’an in various categories. We then sew uniforms for male and females, hijabs and caps as well. To make it much easier we bought a Bus and painted it with the name of the school. A big sign board of the school was erected by the road side. We also constructed a bore hold and put number of taps for the needs of both the student and passé bye who may wish to stop and pray. The mosque was provided with public address system and with 3 loud speakers and a generating set to provide light both nights and day time.

REGISTRATION
We created a form for application and admission. After the public announcement the application forms were distributed free off charged. A date was fixed for interview which was in April 2013. The main reason for the interview was to get the backgrounds knowledge of each candidate so we could categorise them into various classes. We introduced fees, just N500 for registration and N200 for every term, the school duration is 3 years. All ages were eventually admitted male and female though the main target is the smaller children from primary, secondary school categories. On the whole we admitted total of 439 students. The younger ones were scheduled tobe taught in the afternoons, the married women in the early hour of the morning and the adults in the evening until 9pm in the night.
